Friends Fieldtrip

On Tuesday, March 25, I went on a fieldtrip with some friends. Nine of us went. Trish Derrick, Jenny Curtis, Mandy Giles, Chris McAfee, Linda Thompson, Margaret Damanske, Anne Sisam, Shauna Ruske and me. Trish Derrick had arranged for us to have Barbara Bradshaw to give us a tour of the Relief Society Building. She has been serving a service mission for the last three years. We first enjoyed lunch at the Lion House Pantry and then went for the tour. I didn't know that Relief Society Sisters raised half on the money to build the building. Barbara has had some sweet experiences serving her mission. At the end we got to go back to our parking with the underground tunnels. We enjoyed ourselves. Next month we are talking about doing the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point.

Easter

We had a fun Easter.

Bryan went to Moab with the teachers for Spring Break. They rode Slick Rock on their bikes, hiked in Arches National Park, did a bike ride to Klondike to see the dinosaur tracks, and went to the dripping caves. Bryan's most amazing feat was figuring out how to do the rubix cube.

On Saturday we went up to the cabin and did some sledding. It is always so fun to escape there. It is beautiful every season of the year. Kaytlin, Kristin, Lindzi and Braedon rode up to the cabin on sleds behind the argo. They love sledding down the road and being pulled back up by the argo.

On Sunday we had the traditional Easter Egg hunt. We also wanted to start in our family, Dale's Easter family tradition. Dale's family hides a picnic lunch for each of the children any where in the house. Makenzie found her lunch within minutes behind the television. Lindzi, Bryan, Kristin and Kaytlin could not find an Easter bucket of anyones for about 1/2 hour. Dale finally started giving clues. Some were upstairs, some were downstairs, etc. Still nothing could be found. Soon the children had to be told specific rooms. Lindzi found her basket in the blanket closet. Kristin found her basket in the playroom. It was stuffed in the puppet bucket. Kaytlin's was in her bedroom in the very bottom of her soccer bag. Bryan's bucket was in the storage room behind the toilet paper. Finally we were able to eat! We had a fun picnic in the backyard. After the picnic we played four square and giant four square. I love fun family days!

Sarah and Jason got engaged on February 29, 2008. Jason did a great job of surprising her. Dave, Jason's roommate, asked the two of them to do double date duty. So all week long Dave was giving Sarah details of the evening he had planned, although Jason was really doing all the planning. When Jason and Sarah went for dinner at Olive Garden, Dave and his date were not there. Dave's date had got stuck at class, or so they told Sarah. After dinner they met up with Dave and went on a picture scavenger hunt throughout Logan and Utah State University. Another great idea of Jason's because now they have lots of pictures of this evening. Jason and Sarah ended back up on campus taking pictures. Jason took Sarah to the place in the student center where he had asked her out on their first date. While dancing he dropped to one knee and asked Sarah to marry him. Sarah was speechless and began crying. Jason proposed with an $8.00 Walmart ring. After celebrating together Jason took Sarah down a hallway where he had posted many signs saying why he wanted to marry Sarah. At the end of the hall there was a dozen roses with a note that said "I want to marry you because you want to marry me."

We are excited to have Jason in our family. They have set the date of May 22, 2008 to get married.
